Welcome to Bonsai Builder v1.02 - Holiday Update!
Firstly, we want to thank you for your support! It’s only been one month, but Bonsai Builder already has almost 10,000 browser plays through itch.io. That’s an incredible number! With four Let’s Plays on YouTube and more than 60 of your bonsai shared through Itch and the Bonsai Builder subreddit, this has swiftly become our most popular project of all time!
To celebrate all the wonderful bonsai made thus far, we wanted to make something special related to the end of year holiday season; v1.02! During the month of December (or whenever the computer clock thinks it's December), Bonsai Builder will adopt a special festive atmosphere, with exclusive pots, leaf types and more!
Changelist:
- Seasonal Mode - Active during December, Bonsai Builder now looks slightly different, and includes seasonal options!
- Decoration Tool - Provides easy-to-place festive decorations that can add a holiday charm to your winter bonsai! Decorations can be added to the tree, pot or the newly added ground plane!
- Snow effects - Exclusively during the month of December, snow will fall constantly during gameplay.
- Hat for Main Title - During the month of December, a festive hat will now appear on the Bonsai Builder logo.
- Leaf Colour - Nick has made some tweaks to the colours available. Just because they felt like it, again.

- 8 new seasonal pot designs
- 5 new seasonal leaf shapes
- 30+ new seasonal decorations
- 6 new seasonal piano improvisations
